Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin will be on the road in February and March, performing and promoting the new Futa Fata book/CD - Aniar. He will also be featuring material for children in a number of special family shows. Here are the dates:

Funding secured to compose a collection of agallamh beirte for children - 14.01.2008
The Irish Arts Council has presented Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin with a bursary to create a series of agallamh beirte for children. The agallamh beirte is a form of two-hander verse drama which is a popular comic form in the oral Gaelic tradition. This new collection will seek to add to the existing repertoire of agallamh beirte, with a specific emphasis on child-friendly, age-appropriate material. Futa Fata hopes to publish the collection in 2009, in the form of an illustrated book and audio CD.
Baineann Aifric IFTA — Aifric, teen drama wins second Irish Film and TV Academy Award
The hugely-popular teen drama Aifric has won the Irish Film and Television Academy Award for the best youth programme for the second year running. Clíona Ní Chiosáin, who plays the title role, accepted the award at a glitzy ceremony in Dublin’s Gaeity Theatre. Produced by vibrant An Spidéal production company Telegael, Aifric, the first series of it’s kind ever made in Irish and one of the very few teen dramas ever made in Ireland in any language – has been a huge success for TG4. Futa Fata, who owns the publishing rights to the show, plan to publish a book based on the series later this year.

Scoil Gheimhridh Merriman, Cathair na Mart - 1 - 3ú Feabhra 2008
The 40th annual Merriman Irish-language Winter School takes place in Westport Co. Mayo from the 1st - 3rd February. A weekend of lectures, poetry and song, this year's theme is a Standard Irish Language. Tadhg Mac Dhonnagain will be among the many contributors taking part. He will perform on the TG4 TV arts show Soiscéal Phádraic on Sunday 27th January to publicise the Scoil Gheimhridh.

Conradh signs with Kidwick Books, LA - Futa Fata to publish Irish-language versions of two award-winning audio books - 30.11.2007
Futa Fata has just signed a contract with American publisher Kidwick Books, Los Angeles, to publish Irish-language versions of two of their award-winning audio books. “Ellison the Elephant” and “A Frog Thing” by Eric Drachman and James Muscarello will appear in Irish in Spring 2008. The audio CD will feature young and not-so-young voices from Conamara, telling the stories of the frog who wanted to fly and the little elephant who couldn’t find her voice.
Gig for parents in Limerick University - 15.11.2007
Limerick University will welcome Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin as he performs for the participants of the highly popular "Irish for Parents" series of lectures and events. Tadhg will present material from his children’s albums as well as work from “Aniar”.

Funding for a follow-up CD and book to Gugalaí Gug secured - 26.09.2007
Following on the runaway success of the CD/book collection of traditional verse, Gugalaí Gug! (6,000 copies sold so far, 2,000 of which shifted in the first six weeks of release - a significant success in Irish-language publishing), Futa Fata are delighted to announce the funding of a follow-up release, with the working title "Peigín Leitir Moir". Ealaín na Gaeltachta, who also supported Gugalaí Gug, are to fund the recording and production of the CD, which will once again feature the voices of three generations of Conamara singers and lilters. It is hoped that the accompanying full-colour book will be again supported by Bord na Leabhar Gaeilge. "Peigín" will be released in 2009.

Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin will be performing in Oideas Gael, Glencolmkille, Co. Donegal, as part of the annual Culture Week. Tadhg will be presenting material from his latest CD and book, Aniar, as well as material from his extensive back catalogue. Harvard University to publish song lyrics by Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin - 30.06.2007
The Department of Celtic Languages and Literatures, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts has confirmed that it plans to publish the lyrics of two of Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin’s original songs in it’s upcoming publication “Buntús na Gaeilge”.

Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin and friends will be appearing at the Bray, Co. Wicklow music and song club “An Béal Binn” on Thursday 28th June . Tadhg will present a two-part show on the night comprising a family-oriented set, featuring material from the best-selling Gugalaí Gug, Ceol na Mara and Bliain na nAmhrán albums and later, a sneak preview of the new book and CD “Aniar – Voices and Verse from the Edge of the World” which is to be launched officially later in July.
